What happens in my first counselling session
Your first session is usually an introduction where we discuss your concerns, goals, and expectations. its also a chance to see if you feel comfortable working together.
How long is each session?
Generally each session will last for 50 minutes.
How much does it cost
I offer a free 30 minute consultation, then each 50 minute session is £40.
Do you offer online or phone counselling?
I can provide telephone, online face to face, along with walk and talk in a local nature reserve.
What if I don’t know what to say in my session?
It is not uncommon to arrive at your appointment and not know how to express or articulate your feelings. Some clients might also be concerned that they may overshare. Please be assured that all emotions are welcome during your sessions, and there is no such thing as oversharing in therapy.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies, some people benefit from just a few sessions, while others may attend for several months. I will work with you to set goals and review progress.
Do you use any resources in therapy?
If finding the right words present a challenge for you, we can utilise alternative methods to explore your emotions through different channels including:
Sandtray
Emotion cards
Art therapy
Weighted blankets for added reassurance
Are my sessions confidential?
